Fics like you care (but do you love me?)

“I started you a warm bath it should help with the cramping a bit” Eddie says and Buck nods. “Thanks” he murmurs, his traitorous heart speeding up at how easily Eddie slides into the role of a caretaker. Buck started to notice it more lately. His knee brace and painkillers would be placed on the bench at the station after a long shift that made his injury flare up. His favorite conditioner and curl mouse would be restocked before he even noticed they were running low. When his brain got too loud there would be headphones slid onto his ears with a podcast he was always forgetting to finish. When his limbs felt like lead there would be an offer to drive him home even though Eddie hates driving in LA, especially when their shift just ends and it’s still half dark. The action’s feel a lot like love, but he is not ready to unpack that yet. Or, Eddie and Buck get stranded at Nashville because of the storm. Feelings happen.
