Fics like Birds of a Feather

After the second five-year mission, Kirk and Spock are enjoying their well-earned domestic bliss when Saavik comes home to her fathers bearing big news…she’s engaged to be married! Her new betrothed and his family want to meet the new in-laws, but there’s a catch: they have no idea Saavik was raised by the famous James T. Kirk and his first officer Spock, and she would like to keep it that way—at least for now. What could possibly go wrong? The story is a light-hearted and loving homage to the 1996 film, The Birdcage, which was inspired by the 1978 film La Cage aux Folles, which was itself inspired by the 1973 play of the same name. This is a prompt fill for the 2026 K/S Spring Fever event.
