Fics like Birthrights and Bastards

Three years after her grandmother died, Ash is struggling to come to terms with her place in the Southern Water Tribe. And if that wasn't complicated enough, everything changes when her adoptive siblings locate Aang, an airbender, and trigger a Fire Nation raid on their village. Her time has come to travel the world and find a way to heal her sight, with a banished Prince and his loving Uncle on their tail. Alas, like every main female character in fiction, she also has her fair share of secrets to keep. Will they find a way to coexist? Or will the Fire Nation snuff out the hopes of rebellion forever? (This is fanfic, so you can probably guess where it's heading. Inconsistent update schedule.) Spoiler free explanation. Ash, the OC in this story, has been blinded. Due to the in story explanation, one of her main character motivations is to find a way to heal herself and regain her vision. This story is not intended to be derogatory or offensive towards anyone who is on the blind or visually impaired spectrum. If anyone has any issues with the depictions in this work, please feel free to contact me so I can remedy it however possible. I don't own Avatar the Last Airbender or any of its characters/ideas.
