Fics like The Fool's Errand

Though the woman known as the Warrior of Light is still injured from her battle to save the star, she's grown dreadfully bored with bedrest. So when a little excursion at her friends' behest reveals some hidden truths about her past, she jumps at the chance to learn more — and does her best to ignore how all this makes her feel. Because nobody else should have to carry the burden she does. That's what she's for. (The Warrior of Light sacrifices everything, even her own well-being and comfort, for the people around her. I thought that was interesting, so I wrote a story where that character trait is a maladaptive coping mechanism that drives her to hide practically everything about herself, despite everyone around her really wishing she'd open up to them.)
