Fics like It Matters Where You Are

“Your hands are all wet.” “It’s just water,” Lara says, flushing anyway and thinking of how she had practically leapt out of the jeep when she had been dropped off, barely stopping to hastily roll up her shirtsleeves and rinse off her hands under the sink on her way to find Sam. She hadn’t even paused to dry them. “You know. Same thing you’ve been splashing around in all day while I was hard at work, straining my back and sifting through the sand for maddeningly long hours.” “Pfft, I’ve seen your back,” Sam says, wrapping her arms around Lara’s torso demonstratively, reaching down to tug the tan linen shirt free from where it had been tucked into Lara’s pants, then sliding her hand underneath, below Lara’s undershirt to drag up her slightly sweat-damp skin, “it can handle a bit of strain. Anyway, you’re not fooling me, you big baby. Spending hours digging around for old pieces of pottery is, like, your favorite thing in the world.” “Second favorite, maybe," Lara says, kissing her again. - After a long day working on a dig site in Cyprus, Lara comes back to Sam.
