Fics like Ottawa Centaurs #24

Would they get into trouble with their own team over this? Probably. Would it be worth it? Abso-fucking-lutely. “He’s doing it again,” Dykstra stage-whispered, pulling Ilya back to reality. “It’s getting weird.” Bood nodded. “Yeah. How he actually managed to land Hollzy with that creepy smile is beyond me.” Ilya snorted. “Fuck off, idiots.” “Ah,” Wyatt made a cheerful noise. “He’s back! We missed you, Cap.” “But we’d also appreciate it if you could stop grinning like a lunatic,” Chouinard said, pointing at Ilya’s face. “You look like you’re about to become the Metros’ worst nightmare.” OR For months, Shane has been treated like an outcast—branded a traitor by the city he once called home. Now he can’t wait to leave Montreal behind for good. Yet, determined to keep his dignity, he takes part in one final fan event to raise money for a children’s hospital. On the surface, it’s simple enough. Fans exchange money for an autograph, a picture and a fleeting moment with their former hero—nothing Shane hasn’t done countless times over the past decade. This time, however, his final obligation to the team doesn’t end the way he expects.
