Melissa woke up to her phone ringing, she turned over to look at her alarm clock. 3:15 am. Who was calling this late at night, or early in the morning? She grabbed her phone and squinted her eyes. The screen read “Frank”. Her co-worker at the ER. She answered and in a tired voice she mumbled. “Hello?” “Mel?” Frank’s voice was heavy, like he was worried about something. “Were you sleeping? I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you–” “Frank, are you okay? Something sounds wrong.” “Uhm, can you come over? I don’t think I can be alone right now. I don’t know how to explain it, but-” “I’ll be over.” Frank Langdon is struggling and calls the only person he can think of, Mel, to help.
