Fics like Convergence: A DBZ Cosmic Horror Story

The legend of the Super Saiyan was never about salvation. When Goku merges with the Trampled Innocence—a vast consciousness formed from the unjustly slain across the universe—he becomes something beyond a warrior: a vessel for accumulated wrath, grief, and the desire to erase a world that allowed such suffering to exist. In the aftermath of near-total annihilation, the universe’s remaining powers attempt to impose order through ritualized conflict, games, and gods who believe structure can still contain catastrophe. But beneath these systems, older forces stir—entities that predate heroism, evil, and even memory itself. Convergence is a dark deconstruction of Dragon Ball Z, exploring power as moral collapse, justice as violence, and what remains when even gods are afraid of what they have created.
