Fics like open up again (i believe in second chances)

He pauses and slides his eyes away from where he’s been staring at all the pink in muted horror, meeting her gaze once more before his voice drops an octave and he whispers, “I realized you thought we were laughing at you that first night.” Elphaba feels herself tense up, her arms sliding around her chest to hold herself tightly as she regards Fiyero carefully. “You were,” she says, frowning as she remembers that night, the way he’d stood toe to toe with her through her usual diatribe and then had glanced back at his Horse and started giggling. “No, we really weren’t,” Fiyero argues. OR Fiyero goes to Elphaba and asks for a second chance. She gives it to him.
