Jack’s hands stilled midair. “Robby—” “I’m fine,” Robby said automatically, already bringing a hand to his forehead. His fingers came away red. “Okay,” Jack said, tone shifting instantly. “No, you’re not.” Or, Robby keeps hitting his head on the trauma room’s overhead lights. He insists it’s because he’s tall. Jack insists it’s because he keeps getting distracted. Either way, Jack always ends up taking good care of him.
