Fics like Not you too

Dustin held his breath desperately, jaw quivering as Steve looked back at him, eyes taut with pain. He gave a sort of sad smile, and Dustin’s heart stopped. No. Please no- He knew what that meant, he had seen that look before, on Eddie before he had died. Dustin’s breath came faster as he sobbed, vision clouding with tears. The demogorgon swiped at Steve again, shredding Steve’s chest. But Steve had managed to get a final hit on it with his bat, killing the final one, protecting Dustin from being the next victim. Dustin’s world froze as he numbly watched Steve’s body fall, hitting the ground with a dull thud. There was silence for a moment, then an animalistic scream tore out of Dustin’s throat as he pushed himself as fast as he could towards Steve.
