Fics like The Scent of War

“Let me erase that lingering scent of war," he had once said. The moment Amuro threw the worn Zaku into the sea, he'd seen a look of peace in Doan’s eyes. A little shocked, but at ease. As if he'd been finally able to take a breath. Because he clapped Amuro on the shoulder, smiling and giving him a look of encouragement mixed with sadness and a little pity. "I appreciate it, Amuro. And… I'm sorry. For the world that's made you fight this war." Amuro wishes to be rid of the scent of war. Too many have died, too many have given everything up for a reason no one can remember. Humanity's fate cannot lie in war. The fate of Newtypes cannot lie in war. Perhaps the only way to find peace is to create it yourself.
