Fics like give us this daily dose of faux affliction

To Silas’ great detriment, the small space of a train car lended itself to a very small proximity. And with Edith taking the top bunk before either of them had even a chance to protest— not that Silas would have, but he would have taken sleeping outside on the couches of the food car over sharing the tiny twin bunk with Timothy von Kruger, of all people. “Well,” Timothy said lightly, like this was nothing more than a regular weekday for him. “You first, doctor. Or are you perhaps embarrassed of being in such close quarters with me after having spent the evening with my brother?” Riding the Harpy Express is a necessary evil, in Silas' eyes. This conference is important to him- it could mean exposing two of the most prolific arms dealers he had had the misfortune of learning the names of. But as luck would have it, said dealers happen to be on the exact same train as him- and for whatever reason, neither of them will leave him alone.
