Fics like His Cage: An Obsessive High School Bully Story

Part One of Milquetoast Trilogy: Caleb Beck learned young that being vulnerable meant losing. Then Valarie Wells came into his life. What began as an obsession with the quiet girl who refused to give him the admiration he craved became something far darker; Caleb learned that he could make Valarie cry, make her obey, make her fear him, and every reaction only fed the part of him that needed to feel powerful. As the years passed, his fixation along with his depravity deepened. Yet, Valarie was the one person capable of reaching the parts of him he kept hidden from everyone else, and in turn, Caleb's carefully constructed world began to fracture. Valarie saw the monster that existed behind a perfect family, a wealthy home, and an untouchable reputation; for the first time, someone saw Caleb Beck not as the boy in control, but as the boy who has spent his entire life enduring someone else's—surviving in a cage of hurt and despair, and Caleb couldn't survive being seen. Especially not by her.
