Fics like The Shepherd’s Lamb

Michael Wheeler is a prisoner of war and also of his own mind. Once the strategist and heart of the Party, he watched the world collapse when Vecna won, his friends slaughtered one by one. In the aftermath, Hawkins fell under the shadow of the Upside Down, ruled by a new order of the Flayed and those who serve them. Mike was thrown into isolation and forgotten until his captors discovered that the prisoner's memory had been deliberately scrambled, locked away behind psychic walls of his own making. Now the question is: what was so dangerous that his mind chose to bury it? Perhaps the forgotten memories hold the trigger for one final offensive: a secret the Resistance died to protect. To crack him open, Mike is placed under the command of the Shepherd—Vecna's most feared enforcer, a psychic interrogator whose connection to Mike's past makes him uniquely suited for the work. Imprisoned in a sterile compound beneath the earth, Mike struggles to protect what his mind has hidden and preserve what remains of himself. But the torment is only beginning, for both his prison and his captor harbor secrets of their own.
