After a lifetime of faded greys, Soun Tendo’s world explodes into color the moment he sees her: a ferocious, breathtaking girl battling a panda in a rain-soaked alley. Her name is Ranko, a vision of wet silk and fierce grace who reignites a passion he thought long dead. His heart soars with a miraculous, romantic future... only to crash horrifically moments later when he learns "Ranko" is Ranma Saotome, his old friend's son, and a Jusenkyo-cursed groom for one of his daughters. But Soun is a man of profound, if deranged, conviction. He saw her. He felt her reality. So what if the boy fights the curse? Soun will help him see the light. With the engagement to Akane as his anchor, Soun embarks on a meticulously unhinged campaign of "accidental" soakings, tender comforts, and whispered affirmations, all designed to make the captivating Ranko not just appear, but stay. His goal is nothing less than to make the beautiful, fierce girl he fell for see that her true place is not as a daughter-in-law, but as the wife of the man who appreciated her first.
