Fics like The Spark He Claimed and Protected

Ultra Magnus was never meant to find a sparkling in the ashes of a collapsing district during the first riots of the civil war. He was never meant to keep him, raise him, love him with the fierce, unyielding devotion he hid behind protocol and armor. But he did. Starscream grew under the protection of Ultra Magnus and the tight circle of soldiers sworn to secrecy—an elegant, brilliant young mech whose existence was a whispered legend among the Wreckers long before he ever set foot on a battlefield. Until the day he does. And the entire factions of Cybertron witness the delicate, deadly Seeker step from behind Magnus’ shadow… and watch Ultra Magnus lose every shred of military decorum the moment anyone dares get too close to his sparkling—no matter how grown, no matter how beautiful, no matter how dangerous the war around them becomes. The reveal shakes armies. The battlefield halts. And Ultra Magnus learns that he is willing to break command, break ranks, and break anyone who lays a servo on the mech he raised.
