Fics like Altered Variables Mean Z and X Are the Same

Paxton Sycamore has just arrived in Lumious City and is staying in the Hotel Z. He is a teenager set loose for the first time and chasing his interest in Pokémon research, and has been hired as an Aide whose focus is the Wild Zones. He is the nephew of the previous director of the Kalos Pokémon Lab, Professor Augustine Sycamore, who resigned to pursue his personal research interests roughly two and a half years ago. Only one of these sentences is true for a very simple but very important reason. Paxton Sycamore does not exist. (The real reason Paxton looks so much like Professor Sycamore isn’t because the man is his father. It’s because they're actually one and the same.)
