Fics like New People

881prodigium is an investigator. Calamity is a medical worker sharing their body with an unknown entity. When 881 tracks down the culprit behind a string of murders, he drowns them at the docks, not knowing the entity in Calamity's body breaks free at its host's death and kills him in return. Now both are Forsaken, waking up in the survivors' cabin, and 881's first instinct is to finish the job. As the survivors scramble to stop the fight, a horrifying truth emerges: everyone in the cabin is one of the missing people from the news, the same disappearances that haunted 881's investigation. But the new arrivals are shaking secrets loose. Calamity's parasite is a mutation of John Doe's corruption, 881 is piecing together the secret of a certain ex-god of the Heights with fellow investigator Jane Doe, and a vampire in the basement threatens endless rounds unless enough Sukkars are paid. For the first time in his career, 881 has solved the case. Now he has to survive it. \\ OR, my magnum opus. Updates every 10 days. Warning: some things said in summary happen late into fic/haven’t happened yet.
