Fics like When Poison Becomes Medicine

As Paxton struggled with his disappointment of his girlfriend Taunie cancelling their dates to help strangers and balancing his duty to reach Rank A in Z-A royale after reaching Rank Y, he then meets Karasuba: a sharp-tongued, enigmatic man who calls out on his negilence in his care of his Pokemon. Yet somehow their chance encounters become regular meetings, and Paxton finds himself looking forward to those moments more than anything else. But when Paxton discovers the truth about who Karasuba really is, everything changes. Because sometimes the most dangerous poison isn't the kind that kills you—it's the kind that makes you feel alive for the first time.
