Fics like By Gods Forsaken

The conclave was supposed to be a step toward better relations between the mages and templars... until an explosion massacres everyone; everyone except one elven servant with a mark on her hand. From prisoner to religious icon to leader of an army, Ellana Lavellan navigates a religion that slaughtered her people, negotiates with nobles that see her as dirt, and struggles to save a world that despises her. Gathering allies along the way, she must face an ancient enemy and her own past to keep Thedas from splitting at the seams. This indepth retelling of Bioware’s Dragon Age Inquisition connects major plot points with more detailed encounters, expands character stories and romances, and adds a lot of backstory for Ellana Lavellan to set up for a Veilguard fix-it fic. -- Posting Every Tuesday -- Currently at the Emerald Graves, pre-WPHW Want to listen to my rambles? Discuss lore? I am @dalorewhore on tumblr. BIG thank you to @daitranscripts on tumblr. Also @daydreamsonacloudyday for the travel times map and @FenxShiral with Project Elvhen. I still don't understand elvhen, but I'm using 5 different resources so it hopefully comes out okay.
