Faced with pretending to be evil and on Shadow's side and split from his other selves, Vio finds doubts about his facade creeping further and further into his head... and into his heart. Shadow is lonely. Watching the Links' comradery and friendship from a distance made him feel so angry. But then, Vio breaks the brotherhood and he sinks his claws into his chance. Someone who could be His. Just like he was Vaati's. Or: Vio learns people can change. Shadow learns he can have a sense of self.
