They had done this a million times. On world stages and in practice rooms, for months. But every time a frantic, silent scream echoed in Jennie’s mind. Closer. She could feel the heat radiating from Lisa’s body, so close yet so carefully withheld. Her skin prickled with the memories of a time when that distance had been obliterated and Lisa had held her like she meant it. She had craved the slightest falter in Lisa’s resolve, a hint of the possessiveness she’d felt in those hands before. But it wouldn't be today. Today, they were just members of BLACKPINK executing a dance. And the distance between them felt wider than ever.
