Fics like psychedelic smoke

John flicks his lighter up and down. He can’t bring himself to smoke the cigarette pinched between his fingers, for once. Something about the idea of smoke fills him with unease. He’s wired. Up and down goes the lid. His throat is tight. The air smells like smoke. Where there’s smoke, there’s– Nothing. There is nothing. He is fine. or: john & the Martian that protects him from his own mind.
