Fics like Congratulations, Your City Is Illegal

Gotham has shown up on the Infinite Realms’ violation list one too many times. Resurrections, Lazarus pits, an absurd death rate, and a liminal saturation reading that makes ancient ghosts swear—if someone doesn’t fix it, the automatic solution is quarantine. As in: cut the entire city off from the living world. Enter Danny Fenton, very tired Ghost King, sent to perform a “royal inspection.” He’s expecting hauntings, maybe a cult or two. He’s not expecting a semi-sentient city, a legion of bat-themed vigilantes, and one very angry, very Lazarus-tainted ex-Robin who’s technically a walking afterlife violation. The Infinite Realms want a verdict. Gotham wants to live. Jason Todd would like everyone to stop talking about his soul. Danny is just trying not to condemn an entire city before he’s had enough coffee.
