Fics like A Farewell to Arms

This write is focussed on a post-canon universe where Ian is serving in the military. Ian and Mickey are forced into a long separation when Ian leaves for the army, trading shared life letters, distance, and the constant weight of missing each other. When Ian’s service finally ends and he is told he’ll never have to leave home again, their reunion becomes more about relief. Ian is coming back to a life that waited, arms open, and the simple promise that this time, he gets to stay.
