Fics like Glad Tidings to the Strangers

Humans suffer from peculiarly self-centered notions as to the nature of life. We assume out of hand that other lifeforms must somehow conform to our comfortable standards of logic and morality. This, of course, is absurd. - Waidslaw Orona When Victoria learns there’s more waiting for her beyond her own galaxy, she wants nothing to do with it. But she’ll survive. She has to. Captured and forced to fight into an arena, she draws the eye of an Elder Arbitrator, though not for any reason she’s ready to understand. Once he chooses her, the road ahead of her seems brighter, but it’s no less unpredictable than before. Victoria, sometimes, can’t help thinking that maybe her future has never been certain, not once, and that even in the moments she thought she understood, were illusions. Now, in acceptance of that and with an unlikely, silent, and strange companion by her side, she keeps walking. And she is not afraid anymore. Set in the world of “Start of a New Life, Part 2 of Chosen" by Stupe.
