They’re stuck in the manor for over a week when it happens. It didn’t matter that any other time they’d entered the manor, the front door had always been unlocked, ready to safely transport them back to whichever entrance they’d found littered on the continent. The first time Gustave had entered one of the manor doors, he hadn’t feared a trap. His search for Maelle simply too important to care, even if it had been one. He certainly felt a bit trapped now, however. After spending hours the first day and night trying to open the front door before giving up, it had been decided to at least use the manor if they were to be confined in its walls.
