“I know,” Mingi says finally, nodding with a sigh that slips out before he can catch it. “You always rush.” “I’m sorry, Mingi.” Yunho straightens a little, pulling his elbows onto the table, his forearms folding together as if to close the gap between them. His voice is low, steady, but his body betrays him—his fingers tap once against his sleeve before curling into his hoodie fabric. “I really did have to finish up something for the newspaper. I don’t want to be late. You know that, don’t you?” Or Yunho is hiding something—Mingi can feel it in every rushed goodbye, every breathless excuse, every time Yunho comes home with his cheeks flushed and his hands trembling. Mingi refuses to jump to the worst conclusions. He knows Yunho. He trusts him. He has to. But the doubt keeps growing, tightening in his chest until he can’t pretend it isn’t there anymore. Whatever Yunho is keeping from him, it’s starting to pull at the seams of what they’ve built together. Sooner or later, Mingi will have to ask. He needs the truth before the silence between them turns into something that breaks them. Yunho will tell him the truth… won’t he?
