Fics like Sisyphus' Trial

But in truth, Keith was never that strong. Power came from within, and inside Keith was nothing but a cowardly creature that only knew how to bluff and run. When the black lion had chosen Keith, he knows to others that it’d seemed like the most logical choice, but the truth is that nothing was more terrifying to him than when the lights inside the cockpit lit up. There has never been a single bone in his body built for leadership. Leading people meant being dependable, observant, caring. Someone like Lance. Lance, who Keith is helplessly forced to watch as a bright and powerful blast rips him and Red apart. Lance, who's so willing to sacrifice himself for him. It marks their defeat, and before Keith takes his last breath, he wishes he could just go back. OR: During the last battle against Honerva, things take a turn for the worse and Keith and the rest of Voltron end up dying. Keith wakes to in the past, very early on in his journey in space, even before their first encounter with Zarkon, and Keith thinks maybe he can change things. Except Lance isn't here. Lance is missing.
