Fics like Myth of the Machine: A Second Chance

The curse that caused devastation, infamously known as “The Blot”, continues to rain terror all over Inkwell and Toontown alike. Like an infectious disease, it spreads like a plague without so much as any hint of mercy. And to think things couldn’t get any worse, The Blot not only infects and destroys—but births life as well. Reports have shown, in rare occasions, creatures of unknown origins possess uncanny abilities after prior exposure to the curse. Rumors flood the streets, gossiping about ghost stories actually being real. Shadowy figures taking the appearances of things supposedly straight out of myths and fairy tales roaming the forests like zombies; vessels of the undead. No one’s ever dared to investigate the whereabouts of any blot victim. That was until two pairs of brothers ran headfirst into a forgotten, overgrown forest. What will they find? Who will they find? Will the map lead them to where they need to go? Or will they end up finding something—someone else along the way?
