Fics like Maybe the Real Boys were the Magic we Made Along the Way

“Please, you know how this is supposed to work.” Bruce reached around, placing a hand on the heart-shaped crystal embedded in the top of his spine. The back was an odd place for a relic to manifest, Bruce was the first Golden Herald to ever do it. Bruce was the first Shimmer Scout to do a lot of things. “Don’t pretend like the Wardens would have ever chosen me for this. I was an accident. A mistake.” *** Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent are Magical Boys three seasons into a world with too much history and not enough change. Its Bruce's turn to have a mental breakdown about it, thank god for Midwestern aliens, bad decisions, thunderstorms, generational trauma, and the power of love!
