Fics like I Can't Believe I'm Doing This

Cornered, out of luck, the famous tennis player Regina George finds herself swarmed by reporters while trying to catch a private moment in a bar, insisting about her love life. Through some cruel twist of fate, Rodrick Heffley walks through the door, and out of desperation to avoid embarrassment, they come up with a foolish plan, pretending to be a couple, as she asks him to kiss her. The problem with this? Rodrick is the drummer of a famous rockband, and not just that, but also her ex.. Their plan included rules and a break-up date, but didn't account for the unresolved feelings from seven years ago, in the last year of highschool. Alternating between the events of 2005 and 2012, this story gradually shows both: How they met in high school and how they formed a friendship which eventually turned into love, and how they have to keep up an appearence and navigate their own twisted emotions towards each other, seven years after they lost the undeniable bond they once shared. But is a connection like that ever truly lost? What if they both underestimated the power of their shared memories? Updates every Monday :)
