Fics like Can you really call this a hotel, they didn't leave a mint on my pillow or anything

"I'm afraid...you have contracted a terminal case of Main Character." At the confusing age of 18, Paxton loses his voice and his mother drops a bombshell regarding his father that would not be out of place in a soap opera. Somehow this leads him to Lumiose City, where he'll have to develop parkour skills, become the insomniac of all time, interact with the local wildlife without dying, acquire the highly coveted 24-karat LaChespin, and avoid getting successfully rizzed up by the extremely friendly hotel influencer. He can probably survive all of that except the last one. Huh? Go find his dad? Fat chance.
