Fics like Dream Softly of Ancient Things [LoTR]

Menfolk tell strange tales of the woods, the dark, and the creatures that live between. Forests move, gods yet breathe, and The Wild lures men with the promises of riches, of women, of power. One such story is that of the hulder, told to Aragorn by the soldiers of Rohan. They tell of a pretty maid in the western hills who seduces men and returns them with feeble minds. Yet, as the ages have turned and each dark corner of the world has been carved by men, does any such creature yet exist in The Wilds? Or are the women of the wood just that: women who have been forced by the age of War out of their natal woods? As Aragorn takes his place as Thorongil, a young, Mannish warrior, he meets a pretty maid with her own stories of men and ideas of his fate.
