Fics like Empire in the Stars: A Victorian Stargate

What if the Stargate was discovered and activated over a century before the events of the movie? An archaeological dig in Giza in 1876 covers a giant stone ring covered in a strange new form of hieroglyphics. While indecipherable at first, an accidental discovery reveals the true purpose of the Stargate. How will Victorian-era Britain react to the discovery of whole planets to raise the Union Jack over and enemies more fantastical and terrifying than anything they could imagine? There will be some slight divergence from canon, but the broad strokes laid down by the TV series remain the same.
