Fics like The One He Chose

What if Avid didn't call Shelby out to the Obelisk in Episode 5? What if he thought he didn't deserve to be saved? What if he did invite someone to the Obelisk after all? AKA Avid is dying, he knows he is, has been for years. Scott's mentions of a cure through vampirism tempted him, but he didn't deserve it. He knows he won't live through the night, and goes out to the Obelisk for peace. But, he doesn't plan to die alone, and he only knows of one person who truly wants him dead. Owen was left an odd message by Avid to meet him at the obelisk that night. Interested and slightly amused, he turns up expecting a trap. Instead, he is faced with a dying human who reminds him a bit too much of his final moments with Louis.
