Fics like Comment comme une fleur（How Like a Flower）1

In 1958 Paris, Mitake Ran finds solace in the quiet rhythm of her flower shop, her past a distant murmur beneath the city's gentle hum. Across the Seine, Hazawa Tsugumi curates the warm, coffee-scented silence of her café, a sanctuary for a city grappling with the echoes of war. Their present tranquility is intricately woven with threads of memory, leading back to their time in 1954 Hanoi. There, amidst the languid heat and impending change, bonds of friendship were forged in shared moments—of lighthearted teasing in smoky bars, of quiet confidences, and of unspoken understandings. Moving between the two cities and times, this story explores the delicate tapestry of memory, the resilience of human connection, and the quiet ways we carry our past within us. It is a tale of flowers that whisper secrets, coffee that steams with unspoken stories, and the enduring echoes of choices made and paths taken, all set against the backdrop of a fading era.
