Fics like The Stranger at the Bar

In a quiet European town where no one asks questions, Shadow Moon tends bar and tries to forget he was once the son of a god. Then one rainy night, a man calling himself Methos walks in — tired, sharp-tongued, and at least five thousand years too old for the mortal world. Their meeting should have been a brief coincidence. Instead, it turns into a series of strange conversations, near-deaths, and arguments that sound suspiciously like flirting. Between sword fights, stolen wine, and jokes about divine metabolism, they find what neither expected: companionship that refuses to die. When the old gods start stirring again, Shadow and Methos must decide whether immortality is a curse, a habit, or something softer that only survives in laughter and shared silence.
