Coming back to LA was supposed to feel like coming home again. Eddie’s heart belongs here - belongs to this place, and these people who reminded him of what it meant to truly live. To be alive. Coming back with Christopher alongside him was supposed to be the answer to all of his problems, as if the second they passed the Welcome to Los Angeles sign, his bones would settle. His lungs would remember how to breathe. But, even weeks after their return, something still doesn’t feel quite right. Not wrong, exactly. Just. Just not quite whole, like there’s still a piece of the jigsaw puzzle that’s missing. There’s still one final brick to lay before the house is complete.
