Fics like The Comet Is Alive

The Comet was not meant to fall. Agni is Forsaken by the Fire Lord in the wake of a new God. In which Sozin's Comet struck the Earth, and obliterated the Western Air Temple during the Air Nomad Genocide. In which Sozin's Comet, slumbering, is resting until his hundred years of hunger have been quenched. In which Sozin's Comet is Lavos, the red star that fell from the heavens, the red star that burrowed into Earth's core. In which Sozin's Comet, slumbering, feeds upon the World Spirit and the world's people, so it may re-emerge and lay destruction upon the land.
