Fics like Gold & Glory

In celebration of their 50th Anniversary, the Pokémon League branches of all major regions decide to hold a tournament far larger than any the world has ever seen. Trainers are tasked with earning sixteen badges from across the Kanto and Johto Regions within a period of two years. Those who succeed earn the right to take part in the finals taking place at the very top of the Indigo Plateau, the same location where the Pokémon League was founded. Thousands of trainers from all across the world flock to the Indigo Plateau in order to take part in this monumental occasion. Some seek the golden riches promised to those who prove themselves. Others seek the indisputable glory the victor will achieve. For a first-year trainer like Violet Knight, this means the freedom to choose the path she wishes to take, not the path her parents chose for her.
