Fics like Something I Wish You Knew

This fanfic is inspired by Conan Gray’s Wishbone music videos and follows the story of two boys, Brando and Wilson. Set in 1987, in the sunbaked streets and quiet corners of Georgetown, Texas, best friends Wil and Bran share a bond that feels deeper than friendship. Their days are filled not just with each other, but with the laughter, teasing, and occasional drama of their tight-knit circle of friends—friends who unknowingly test their patience, spark jealousy, and force them to confront feelings they didn’t realize existed. Neither Wil nor Bran fully understands that what they feel for each other might actually be love—a love fragile, confusing, and entirely unexpected. As their friends’ influence weaves in and out of their lives, the line between friendship and something more begins to blur. Can Wil and Bran face the truth before it’s too late, or will fear and circumstance keep them apart?
