Fics like I will follow you into the dark

Bilbo Baggins, in the last days of his life, departed Middle-earth bound for the blessed realm with his companions. Until the Valar intervene. The Valar offer him a chance to change his fate, and with it the history of Middle-earth. He sets out to save the line of Durin and to prevent the ring from ever going to Frodo...but the Ring of Power has a will of its own, and its power is not one to be lightly thrown aside. Another Battle of Five Armies fix-it, because we can never have too many stories where there is more to their story than death and grief. Though in this case, there is still some lingering grief. This timeline will be a mash-up of the book and movies, along with some lore and events from the later trilogy (LOTR), and assorted other Tolkien lore taken from various essays, works, and one very entertaining interview between Richard Armitage (Thorin) and Martin Freeman (Bilbo). Anyway, hope you all enjoy!
