Fics like Opened Tabs

Shane and Ryan are trending on Twitter, but it's not because of a video this time. #Shyan is blowing up. It's funny. They scroll for a while, then eventually go back to work. But Shane doesn't close the tab. — That was what Shane told himself the first time he typed "Shyan fanfic" into the Twitter search bar. Or maybe it was Tumblr. It all blurred together at 1:13 a.m. when his apartment was too quiet, and Ryan had texted him a meme three hours ago and then gone offline. He wasn't looking for anything, exactly. He was just curious, anthropologically. Like David Attenborough observing fandom in the wild.
