Fics like Happy Valentines Day

"Paul answered the phone on a January morning. Hearing the familiar voice singing through the lines, he gasped, momentarily oblivious to the exhaustion clouding every note. 'My god,' he said breathless, feeling like a child all over again at the Fete, flushed in the crowding presence of the boy leaning over his shoulder as he hunched over the piano, 'What took you so long? I've been worried sick.'" In an alternate universe where everyone is divorced (don't worry about it), John Lennon is still shot outside of the Dakota on the eighth of December, 1980; but in this one he lives. Months later, he and Paul finally get together after a lot of scheduling conflicts, and it goes about how you'd expect.
