Fics like I could use a canary
“Come sing for me, songbird,” Hades all but purred, leaning forward in his seat, “let me hear that voice of yours my wife seems to love so much, and maybe we can make a deal.” The smile was all teeth, sharp and tight like a predator, a wolf. Singing. That Orpheus could do. The familiar task calmed him, and he reached for the lyre on his back, but the moment the poet moved, Hades hissed, low and scolding. “Not like that, son.” He muttered, something dark oozing from his words. “You won’t need anything but your mouth to entertain me, canary.”
