Fics like Rabbit Foot Blues

Well, this is just great, thought Simon. This is definitely where I wanted to be when I woke up this morning. It was a beautiful day, to be fair, the sun slanting through some really glorious fall-colored trees across a sparkling, crystal clear river. A native creature was making, if not bird song, at least some kind of mating call. There was a pleasant smell in the breeze, verdant and earthy and reminding him of late summers at his family home, back when he was a diligent student, studying on the back patio in order to fulfil his dream of being a doctor. And here he was, pressing deep into a gash in Jayne’s leg to stop the bleeding, getting cursed thoroughly for his trouble. Simon and Jayne get lost in the woods, literally and figuratively.
