Fics like once upon a halloween

“As a kid, Friedrich used to be afraid of the dark. Even more so of being outside in the dark—not really scared of the shadows themselves but rather what could be hiding beneath, and so every time his father walked him home, he made sure to take the darkest corners to show Friedrich that there was nothing there. He knows better now; knows that what he used to fear doesn't hide in shady alleys or lost places or even the woods, but that they hide where no-one knows them, where the world is darkest.” Or: Halloween, Klopfer, cold hands and vampires and Friedrich and Albrecht who end up somewhere between.
