Fics like And Then There You Were. (Moritz x Melchior)

Moritz has lost hope for his future after failing yet again. He struggles with his schoolwork, lack of support at home, and hidden desires, which all culminate in deep self-loathing and his decision to take his own life. As he is in the midst of writing a farewell note to the one person he truly loved, his roomate Melchior interrupts him and convinces him that the world can be kind if he gives it a chance. The two confess their deepest feelings towards each other, and Melchior comforts Moritz, ensuring that Moritz knows that he is deeply cared for. ———————————— “Melchi. If you are reading this note, know that I am not gone. No, not really. I will walk with you, even from the shadows, following in your footsteps. I’m sorry for leaving you alone, but I hope you understand. I don’t have a home anymore— except for the one I found in you.”
